Vice President
Gary "Rock Salt" Foster
"After joining the society in my first year I spent my second year as Publicity Secretary and I’m now one of two Vice Presidents in the society. It’ll be my responsibility to provide support to the President throughout the year, making sure all things society related are running smoothly, as well as co-organising the festival with fellow senior exec members. Aside from this, I (regrettably) study Physics, have a love-hate relationship with Sheffield Wednesday and pretend I know things about beer."

ChairmanEd "Shanters" Butterfield
"I am the handsome and charming Chairman of the society, having joined at the very start of my first year. After serving as Treasurer in my second year (and doing an immaculate job, I must say), I was appointed as President during my third year and will be remembered as the most dashing and successful Festival Organiser in living memory. In my current role, I advise the rest of the exec team, offering useful suggestions from my vast knowledge of beer, cellarmanship and the Mighty Boosh. In my spare time, I enjoy veganism, homo eroticism and watching other men have sex with my girlfriend (or film, literature and spending romantic evenings with my co-chairman and life partner.)"

ChairmanJames "Donkey" Astles
"I’m the other handsome and charming Chairman of the society, and I too joined at the start of my first year, although unlike my co-Chairman I actually turned up to socials. After a successful stint as Publicity officer in my second year, I was “elected” Vice-President of the society in my third year and was jointly-responsible for running last year’s festival and bringing some of the best beers we’ve ever had to our customers, such as Crouch Vale Amarillo which is my favourite beer. This year you’ll mostly find me advising the festival organisers, trying in vain to keep Ed from interfering too much and generally being an all-round bloody good bloke. You won’t find me visiting Brighton Beach, however, due to an unfortunate naked misunderstanding (for which I received my nickname) which resulted in me being banned for life."
|
SecretaryLlywelyn "Donnie Darko" Colnet
"I joined WURAS as a fresher last year after attending a pub crawl to Leamington and instantly the society appealed to my ale loving nature. Following on from the elections last year I was given the responsibility of secretary which encompasses organising sweatshirts and servers for the festival. Outside of real ale I am in UWCA, and after that I do my PPE degree."
|
TreasurerOliver "Browntown Jr." Brown
"I joined the Society as a fresher at last year's festival, this year I’ve been given the position of Treasurer, my responsibilities are overseeing the society's finances and securing brewery sponsorships for the festival. My other interests include getting angry about lab reports and trying to convince people that Stoke’s not in the Midlands."
|
Social Secretary
Matt "Reacharound" Reah
"Hi I’m Matt and I joined the Society after the Festival in my first year. Last year I was responsible for ‘Equipment’, which basically meant I was in charge of everything the Society owned that was not alcoholic! This year, as Social Secretary, I have the pleasure of organising socials, beer festival trips, and our legendary tour. I look forward to meeting you at one of our future events" :)
|
Cellarman
Andrew "Browntown" Brown
"In the past, I’ve been Vice-President and Chairman on the society exec but this year I’ve the honour of being ‘Cellarman’. So, during the festival week, it will be my main responsibility to look after all of the lovely casks that we get in. When I’m not doing that, I’m taking long walks on Coventry’s beaches, helping out with festival organisation and various society matters, and shouting in Scouse."
|
Equipment Officer
Gareth "Fish" Jones
"After finally joining in our third year (Better late than never!) we are responsible for the ‘equipment’ in particular its storage at Westwood and purchase of all non-alcoholic consumables for the festival. When not enjoying a pint of cider or strong ale we also run Warwick Airsoft Society (WAS)."
|
Publicity Officer
Taylor "Nickname Pending" Perry
"After wasting 2 years not in the Real Ale society, I finally joined in my third year and this year will be part of the promotional officer team. I will be responsible for bombarding you with facebook posts and helping to create the posters that will plaster the university around the start of February! When I’m not promoting, I am busy treasuring for Drumming Society and fumbling through some maths."
|
BrewerFilipe "Filope" Pascoa
"I gave up on good weather and the exquisite Portuguese beaches in a quest for fine ale and a painful Chemistry degree. After a year of single-handedly ensuring the society’s cultural diversity, my job this year is to drown my sorrows in delicious and impeccable homebrews."
|
WebmasterRobert "Porno" Smith
"Now known only as Porno, I am responsible for the creation and management of our website. This includes getting google to actually put is in the search rankings, and trying to get the exec to use it. I was previously a publicity officer of the fabled publicity corner. Outside of the society I am a fourth year Physicist."
